We weren’t planning on an early start yesterday so even though I was awake at half 7 I let the boys all sleep in. We went to the food court at AS for breakfast and got loaded totchos and Mickey waffles with bacon and sausage. The totchos were good but a bit too oily for me to be able to eat a whole portion…
We finally made it to Epcot at about half 11 and noticed Goofy and Minnie so went to queue up for our first photos but by the time we got to Minnie she was going for her lunch and the queue was closed so we decided to come back later. Needless to say Conor wasn’t happy…
The Seas with Nemo was closed so our first ride was Living with the Land. At first Conor was a bit apprehensive because it was dark but he loved seeing the plants, fruit and veg towards the end.
After that we did rider swap on Soarin’ which Conor didn’t want to go on… he’s just passed 42in so could’ve come on but I had a sneaky feeling he wouldn’t like it so went myself and Stefan would go after. 5mins into the queue I realised he should’ve gone first and I should’ve taken the lightning lane because I get itchy feet when I have to wait for something and end up fidgeting or swaying to and fro but luckily I had my phone (and a signal) to occupy myself… for some reason I thought Soarin’ was more like a simulator-keep-your-feet-on-the-ground type of ride so was a bit shocked when we literally went up in the air and ended up closing my eyes and holding on at some of the sudden changes but I told Stefan earlier I definitely want to do it again even if it’s just so I can see the bits I missed.
After that we got on Nemo after it opened up again which Conor loved and then he decided he was hungry so we went towards the food festival… the first stop was Belgium and a chocolate waffle (mainly for Conor of course), then we got some Mango Tango cider at the refreshment outpost which was sooo good.
Next up was a pea and potato samosa from India and the Dan Dan noodles from China which I had been hoping to taste for so long and a bubble tea which was missing the bubbles (either that or they meant fizzy). The noodles were tasty but they weren’t spicy enough (Conor even tried and liked them) and I’m pretty sure they were cold (although I think they’re supposed to be that way).
After all the food and a visit to see Anna and Elsa (who reminded us more of Marilyn Monroe rather than a Princess) we headed towards Test Track which is one of my favourites so I was hoping Conor would come on with me. All was good until we got to the front of the queue and they had problems with the design centre so we had to leave… we waited outside for 15mins hoping it would maybe open back up but by the time 6 o’clock came we decided to call it a day and get the bus back to the hotel. We’ve got another 3 days at Epcot so I wasn’t too mad.
Leaving the park we were hoping Minnie might still be at the front but unfortunately she had already gone home which really disappointed Conor who burst into tears because he didn’t get to see her.
After a short break and change of clothes we headed to the Vineland outlets for the Disney outlet and Skechers, both of which were a disappointment… the Disney shop didn’t have anything we wanted (I was hoping to find some magic bands but all they had were 2 limited edition and the rest wasn’t up to much either) and Skechers didn’t have any shoes I liked which is a first, and the new slip-ons were a disaster too, either too loose or too tight. So off to ASICS to get 2 pairs of trainers for me and one for Stefan…
Then a quick trip to Chick-fil-A for a late dinner, Walmart for a few things (plus a few more) and it was back to the hotel for bed at half 11 with the alarm set for half 6…
